While Thission Square is not, strictly speaking, a square, it is definitely the place to be these days. This was not always the case, though.

Before Apostolou Pavlou Street was pedestrianised in 2004, the area was not as charming as it is today. But it has since been transformed, with many of the local shops on Apostolou Pavlou Street, Nileos Street and Akamantos Street serving coffee and ouzo at the tables and chairs outside the area’s neoclassical buildings.

Heraklidon Street is another important landmark, with many restaurants, clubs, museums and other cultural institutions, extending all the way to Thessalonikis Street.
