Philothei Summer Cinema

This unique summer cinema is a tangible example of the everyday culture of the Athenians during the post-war years. Looking today exactly as it did back to 1961 when it opened, it was built thanks to the efforts of the Philothei Building Society.

Due to its centralized location at Drossopoulou Square and its high quality of programming, the cinema quickly became well-known and loved by all Athenians.

During the 1980’s, the cinema was listed by the Ministry of Culture, and now operates as “Philothei” every summer evening.

Don’t miss it!
