Hydra island honours the legendary Admiral Andreas Miaoulis with an annual festival that lasts two weeks. From June 17th till June 30th, the island hosts a variety of exhibitions, concerts, lectures, musical events, theatrical performances, games, folk dances, boating and sports games.
The festivities conclude with the celebratory reenactment of the Battle of Gerontas and the burning of the Ottoman flagship followed by an impressive fireworks show!
