Thon Estate

Municipality of Athens

The Thon Estate, named after its owner Nikolaos Thon, a courtier of German descent to King George I, was built by Ernst Ziller around 1900. At the time, the manor occupied an entire city block. By the late 20th century the site had been reduced to a mere four stremmata (about 4,000 m²), with the Church of Ag. Nikolaos being the only structure remaining from the original site.
