Saint Pavlos Anglican Church

The Church of Saint Paul at the end of Philellinon Street is an Anglican church, neo-Gothic style. According to Mpiris the temple was designed by Stamatis Kleanthis. However, other researchers attribute the construction of the temple to European architects, such as the famous Danish Hansen or the British Charles Cockerell. The church was built in the early 1840s and consecrated on Palm Sunday in 1843. Marble from Hymettos was used as the raw material for most of it. Specifically for its cornices, porolite from the Isthmus of Corinth.
