With a wide variety of events covering the whole spectrum of the performing arts (dance, music, theatre, puppetry, etc.) and free entrance to most of them, the Rematia Festival usually starts at the end of June and ends at the end of September. The impact of the festival’s events seems to be spreading increasingly beyond the narrow confines of the city. Also, the fact that the people who attended its events, with free entrance for the overwhelming majority of them, significantly strengthened the city’s social structures, surpassing last year’s levels of supply of food, medicine, school supplies and other basic necessities to the Municipality’s Social Grocery, the Solidarity Social Clinic of Chalandri and the solidarity structures for refugees. The Euripides Theatre of Rematia is located in the exclusive area of Rematia, Chalandri. For more than three decades, the theatre has hosted the festival of the same name, where every summer it presents a multitude of artists and a variety of events. It was completely renovated after the devastating fire of May 2015. There is a canteen in the theatre.
