In a stunning location, on the iconic and historical site of Lipasmata in Drapetsona, with its preserved facilities and characteristic towering chimney, and the sea reaching almost to the stage, a cultural institution has been established since 2017: the “Festival at the sea”. The once abandoned space has taken on real life. For about 4 months each year, Lipasmata becomes a reference point for thousands of visitors. Dozens of musical and theatrical events take place in the space, all together forming a celebration of culture and creation, a journey into colors, moments, experiences and images.
With the aim of “taking our dreams far away” each summer, we exorcise with music and dance the ghosts of the past, an industrial past that in its time did not seem at all “dreamy” for the factory workers and the inhabitants in our region who were forced to live embraced by heavy industry for “a living”. And because dreams are priceless…all the events in the Lipasmata Multifunctional Park continue, from the very first moment, to be free!
