Since 2016, the municipal cinemas of the Municipality of Keratsini-Drapetsona have been a stable institution, operating in collaboration with the municipality and the municipal enterprise. For this reason, the operation of the municipality’s cinemas is carried out with high standards, low ticket prices and an exceptional program. The Municipality’s Summer Cinema network consists of 3 cinemas:
The amphitheater- style “Alekos Chrysostomidis Summer Cinema” is located within the Selepitsari Park in Amfiali. It has 400 special anatomical seats, accompanied by marble tables. It emphasizes children’s movies, as well as action movies for the whole family. In addition, the special layout of the spaces provides parents with the unique opportunity to enjoy their coffee or drink while their children watch the movie.
The “Melina Summer Cinema” is located in Drapetsona, very close to Piraeus. It has excellent access, either by car or by bus. It is the first summer cinema that the Municipality reopened after many years of being closed, and this year it enters its fourth consecutive year of screenings. It has 400 seats and presents first-run films, while maintaining a cinephile identity in its selections.
The charming “Martha Karagianni Municipal Summer Cinema”, located in the Evgenia area of Keratsini, is a place that will not leave lovers of the 7th art disappointed. Its neat exterior already gives the viewer a foretaste of what they will find inside. The cool courtyard full of aromas and colors, the white pebbles, the basil pots that adorn the tables, and the pleasant technical specifications of image and sound create a sweet little artistic clearing that we want to visit until the end of the season. As for its history, “Martha Karagianni” is the historic “Cinema Katerina” that housed the art of cinema in the city for many years and was a meeting point for cinephiles.
