Join the Authentic Athens Marathon Celebration at SNFCC! From November 3 to 10, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) will host a vibrant series of events in partnership with the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) to celebrate the 41st Authentic Athens Marathon. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities including sports training sessions, guided tours, lectures, and exciting pop-up surprises, all designed to enhance the marathon experience.

One highlight will be the discussion titled “All About the Marathon,” taking place on November 7, where experts will share insights on high-performance training, injury prevention, and mental preparation for long-distance races. This interactive session will feature opportunities for the audience to engage directly with athletes and scientists.

Additionally, the historic Spyros Louis Cup, awarded to the winner of the first modern Olympic marathon in 1896, will be on display at the SNFCC. Acquired by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, this iconic trophy celebrates the legacy of the marathon and is part of a broader initiative to make cultural artifacts accessible to the public. Visitors can learn more about the Cup’s significance during free guided tours from November 4 to 10.
