International Opera Awards

Attica, the Greater Athens Region, is set to become the global capital of opera this November, as the International Opera Awards 2025 come to Greece for the very first time. Taking place on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at the Stavros Niarchos Hall of the Greek National Opera (GNO) within the iconic Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), this prestigious event celebrates the excellence, creativity, and talent of the global opera community.

Established in 2012, the International Opera Awards honor outstanding achievements in opera, spotlighting both emerging and established talent, and supporting young artists through the Opera Awards Foundation. This annual event is a major fixture on the international operatic calendar and reflects the collaborative, boundary-crossing spirit of the art form.

Hosted under the artistic supervision of the GNO and featuring its acclaimed orchestra, the 2025 ceremony will showcase the remarkable evolution of Greece’s national opera company — now recognized as one of Europe’s most dynamic cultural institutions.

Athens invites opera lovers from around the world to be part of this landmark cultural moment!
