Athens Epidaurus Festival

Step into a summer of culture with the Athens Epidaurus Festival 2025, celebrating its remarkable 70th anniversary! As Greece’s most iconic performing arts event, the Festival returns this June with a rich programme that blends timeless tradition with bold contemporary voices. From ancient drama to new theatre and dance works, the Festival transforms Attica, the Greater Athens Region, into a vibrant hub of artistic expression.

At the heart of the Athens experience lies the legendary Odeon of Herodes Atticus, beneath the Acropolis. This year’s lineup promises unforgettable nights under the stars: Puccini’s Turandot opens the season in grand operatic style, followed by Euripides’ Hippolytus directed by the Festival’s Artistic Director Katerina Evangelatos and Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto. International artists – Max Richter, Michael Kiwanuka, Youssou N’Dour, and Daniil Trifonov – take center stage alongside acclaimed ensembles like the Munich Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Cross-genre surprises include The Sound of Cinema by Nicola Piovani and KISMET, a jazz supergroup led by Dave Holland.

From classical masterpieces to modern fusions, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus invites you to experience world-class performances in an awe-inspiring setting—only in Attica, the Greater Athens Region.
