Holy Catholic Church of Saint Lukas
The construction of the Holy Catholic Church of Saint Luke started in 1842, blessed with donations from the Catholics of Greece, a fundraiser in Lyon, France and an offering from King Otto and his father Louis, King of Bavaria. The Gothic design was the wish of King Otto and was implemented by the architect Hansen. It is reminiscent of the Bavarian temples. After several stages, the building was finished in 1845 and on October 18th, the celebration day of Saint Lukas the Evangelist, the official inauguration took place.
