Zourvas Lighthouse-Hydra

This lighthouse was built in 1883 and is located in Hydra. The height of its tower is 10 metres and its focal height is 36 metres. It was destroyed by the Germans during the Second World War and rebuilt in 1946. From then until 1986 it was "lit" with oil and when it was automated it was turned into a solar lighthouse. Its characteristic was the three white flashes every 20 seconds and a flare of 17 nm. The area is rocky and inaccessible by land. To the east of the lighthouse is the historic monastery of Agia Anna.
