The “Dana” lighthouse is located in Poros, at the western end of the island, at the entrance to the bay of Poros. This lighthouse was built in 1870 by the rench Society of Ottoman Lighthouses. The height of its tower is 9 meters and its focal height is 32 meters. In 1941 it was destroyed by the Germans and reopened in 1948. In 1952 the oil-fired machines were replaced by automatic acetylene torch machines which in turn were replaced in 1989 by a solar power system. Since 1954 the beacon has been automatic. In 2011, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation completed its full restoration. Access to the lighthouse is easy and is done from the paved road, while it continues by walking on a passable path.
