A leisurely stroll to the summit of Filothei Hill brings visitors to the Throne of Zeus, a site offering breathtaking panoramic views of Athens. On a clear day, you can see the island of Aegina in the distance.
In ancient times, the Athenians worshipped Zeus, the god of rain and thunder, at the top of this hill (referred to as Anchesmos). Excavations here have confirmed this theory.
All movable artefacts have been transported to the archaeological collection at Kifissia.
