FeCHA – Spanish-Speaking Film Festival Athens 2025 returns to Attica, the Greater Athens Region, for its 9th edition from May 26 to June 5, celebrating the rich cinematic heritage of Spanish-speaking countries. The festival will take place at a selection of iconic venues in Athens, including some of the most famous open-air cinemas of the city.
This year’s opening film will be La Infiltrada (Double Identity), a gripping drama based on the true story of a Spanish National Police agent who infiltrated the ETA terrorist group. The festival will also showcase a wide array of films, including Reinas, the official Swiss entry for the 2025 Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, and Rita, the directorial debut by Paz Vega.
Special guests include acclaimed director Marina Seresesky and producer Álvaro Lavín, who will present their films Empieza El Baile (Let the Dance Begin) and Sin Instrucciones (No Instructions). The festival also honors María Ruiz-Falcó Tejeda, Director of the BUEU Film Festival, with a special focus on Galician short films.
