The Tomb of Themistocles

Hidden for years on the private property of an old fertilizer plant in Drapetsona, this small, newly discovered archaeological site was only recently opened to the public. It is believed by many to be the actual tomb of Themistocles, who led the ancient Athenians to victory over the Persians at Salamis. Plans are afoot to install a monument to honour this great leader.
