The Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses Foundation (A.K.S.S.) was entrusted with realizing the vision and managing the estate left behind by the national benefactor Sotirios Anargyros. The A.K.S.S. Foundation’s facilities near the traditional settlement of Spetses and the foundation’s unique pine forest, covering about half of the island and ensuring its sustainable development, played a crucial role in the A.K.S.S.’s activities, during the School and boarding school’s operation (1928-1983) and the period that followed. Indeed, with gradual upgrades, the facilities became a magnet for national and international educational and research activities. Furthermore, the facilities, and in particular the 1,100 seat outdoor theater on the adjacent hill owned by the Foundation, have hosted important cultural activities.
