Arsida Ιslet

The islet of Arsida or Artzenta, also known as Artsida, Eleousa or even as Gaidaros (meaning donkey in Greek) is a small uninhabited island near the coast of Palea Fokaia (Municipality of Saronikos) with a Mediterranean character. The island has a surface area of approximately 800 acres and a total perimeter of 3.7(km), with a maximum altitude of 137.0 (m). It is a protected area (CORINE) important for seabirds, migratory birds and endemic flora. An area similar to the coastal zone of southern Greece, undisturbed due to being relatively inaccessible. Its shows vulnerability due to the intense hunting. Due to the proximity to land, diving can easily be done all year round for all diving levels as the depths vary. What makes diving special on this island is its cave. Wonderful, shallow and friendly to all scuba divers and swimmers if they wish to follow, with its blue-green waters and the unique shades of the sun since the cave above is open. The sun, which is responsible for life on our planet, knows how to charm with its rays not only the submarine photographers but all kinds of them. Biodiversity on the islet of Arsida is very rich in morays, fish, octopus, and shellfish and for some lucky divers, as has happened in the past, they may meet the seal that uses the cave as a shelter.
