Bafi Mountain Shelter

Just an hour away from the centre of Athens, on the beautiful and unknown to many, mountain of Parnitha, one can breathe oxygen, escape from the bustling city and the routine of everyday life. Having a stop at the Bafi shelter at an altitude of 1161 metres, it is easy to enjoy the hot and cold drinks as well as the homemade cuisine. The Bafi shelter is located in the heart of Mount Parnitha. It is an organized and suitable shelter to receive visitors of all ages, where it offers its visitors not only the traditional warm hospitality, but also helps them to get to know the incomparable beauties of the place, to relax in nature, in the fresh air, in the beautiful view and to discover the unique fir forest of Attica within the National Park of Parnitha. It can accommodate up to 50 people. The great fire of June 2007 burned 2/3 of the fir forest. A total of 56,000 acres of the 300,000 acres of the mountain were burned. Today, the north-eastern part of the National Forest remains green and the visitor can meet deer, explore trails of varying difficulty, see different species of mushrooms and observe endemic plant species. Parnitha remains a true refuge for people who love mountains and nature. The Bafi shelter operates under the auspices of the organisation of Parnitha Shelters.
