The Vorre Museum is a complex of buildings, gardens and courtyards set in 18 acres of land. Its collections number over 6,000 objects covering 4,000 years of Greek history. The Museum was donated to the Greek nation by the Vorre family, as an artistic and cultural institution.
The second part is called “Pyrgi” and consists of a complex of 2 traditional village houses, the remains of a stable and an old wine press from the time of the Turkish occupation at the beginning of the 19th century. The exhibits displayed in “Pyrgi” are mainly Greek folk objects of daily use, rare furniture, folk carpets of various types, village troughs, cups, millstones, well mouths, a large collection of ceramics, remarkable oil paintings and gravures depicting historical events of modern Greece , as well as various important ancient findings.
Its purpose is the promotion and dissemination of Greek culture through the creation of infrastructure and permanent collections, the presentation of exhibitions, the implementation of educational programs, the planning of publications and the organization of events, happenings, lectures, etc.
