Electric Railways Museum

The Museum of Electric Railways was the vision of Manolis Fotopoulos, an employee of A.P.E.R. (Athens-Piraeus Electric Railways), who began in 1995 to research and collect material in order to highlight the history of the electric railway and the role of its employees. The museum was inaugurated in November 2005, having in its collection 1,250 objects, while in 2011 it was expanded. It houses equipment and objects related to electric railways from the first phase of their appearance in 1904 until the post-war years, as well as rich photographic-archival material related to the means of fixed railways that operated in Greece in the past.
