“Interactive Tour at the Ancient Agora of Athens” at the “Hellenic Cosmos” Cultural Centre

The "Tour of the Ancient Agora," showcased in the "THOLOS" of the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre, is a remarkable production, highlighting the rich tapestry of Greek history and culture. Guided by a knowledgeable museum educator, you can choose your own path through the Ancient Agora, exploring its evolution over three pivotal moments in history. Each era reveals its own story, spanning from the bustling Classical Agora around 400 BC, marked by vital public buildings and open spaces for gatherings, to the Hellenistic period around 150 BC, where grand commercial stoas reflected the prosperity fostered by Hellenistic rulers. Finally, the Roman view of the Agora around 150 AD shows a shift towards a more religious and cultural focus, with new temples, an odeon, a library, and a nymphaeum emerging as the commercial center gradually waned.
