Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium

One of the new football stadiums, George Karaiskakis in Neo Faliro, is a modern architectural proposal that serves the needs of the football teams of Piraeus and the Greek National Team. In 1895, after the land was granted by the railway company, a velodrome was built for the Olympic Games of Athens (1896), while before the war it was used as a football field by the Piraeus teams. In 1964, it was rebuilt to meet the demands of the era, hosting significant sporting events, like the European Games (1969) and the European Cup final. To accommodate the 2004 Athens Olympics, the old stadium was demolished. In its place, a new Karaiskakis Stadium emerged in a record-breaking 14 months. This ultra-modern, purely football-centric stadium boasts a playing field measuring 120m x 80m, with a capacity of 32,115 spectators. The stadium's parking lot can accommodate over 1,500 vehicles. The total facility, with an area of 6,500 m2, can be used for commercial use, as around the perimeter of the stadium, there is the "commercial gallery", which also houses the official Olympiacos boutique, the "Red Store" and the Olympiacos Museum.
