Sweet almond paste pears of Kythera

 700 g Almonds peeled and grained (without skins)
 700 g Honey
 1 tbsp Powdered mix of cinnamon and cloves
 Powdered sugar (alternatively, use powdered cinnamon or cocoa powder)
 Cloves (optional)

Place in a pot the almonds, honey and the mix of cinnamon and cloves.

Stir the ingredients in medium heat, until a liquid mixture is formed.

Remove from the heat, let it cool down a little, and then pour it on a clean surface. Cut the mixture in equal parts and shape the dough in a pear like form.

Sprinkle the pears with powder sugar. Alternatively, use powdered cinnamon or cocoa powder.

Place the pears in a tray and leave them to cool down and become firm, for at least 10 hours.

As a decorative option, for the stem of the pears, you can place cloves at the top.
