Most researchers and scholars of ancient Athens agree that present-day Adrianou and Tripodon Streets in the Plaka district of Athens have followed the same routes for the past 2,500 years.
In the 1980’s, a large part of the street in Plaka was pedestrianised, exposing myriad ancient monuments situated on each side of the road. While the street is primarily commercial today, it has still managed to preserve a sense of the ancient traditions that made Adrianou Street one of the city’s main commercial streets.
