Nea Makri

Just 32 kilometres north-east of Athens, the large, organised beach at Nea Makri offers easy access and a number of services, making it a favourite for locals and visitors alike.

Umbrellas, deck chairs, showers and diving platforms are available, and the mayor of Nea Makri has placed special emphasis on maintaining the area’s cleanliness and using environmentally friendly rubbish containers.

Visitors can swim to the northern edge of the beach near the church of Agia Kyriaki, where another superb location, Brexiza Beach, offers Blue Flag services and cleanliness.
