The Economic University of Athens, or ASOEE as it was previously known, was created by the Venizelos government in 1919, and one year later the Commercial Studies School opened its doors for the first time.
In 1926 it was renamed the Supreme School of Economic and Commercial Sciences and in 1935 the school moved to the building on Patission Street. After World War II, the school expanded to occupy adjacent buildings.
Today it has grown into a major educational institution offering financial, commercial and European studies.
