The National Research Foundation is a private, non-profit institution, promoting multi-disciplinary research in the sciences and humanities. This modern building, situated at the corner of Vassileos Konstantinou and Vassileos Georgiou Streets, was built between 1965 and 1968 to replace the royal stables.
Based on designs by Constantine Doxiadis, the building says more about pragmatic functionality than aesthetics; the result is a massive complex, a prototypical example of the powerful architecture of late 20th century.
