With its unwavering commitment to providing exceptional educational and conference-related services, the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses
Foundation (“A.K.S.S.”) remains a distinguished hub of knowledge, culture and intellectual exchange.
Fondly referred to as “The School” in Spetses, this prestigious institution was founded in 1927 and has earned a reputation as one of the best model Colleges in Greece and the Balkans. Until 1983, it nurtured numerous scholars, artists, scientists and politicians, whereas its legacy has been crucial in elevating the cultural stature of the Saronic island.
The Foundation’s state-of-the-art facilities are designed to host a wide array of educational programs, conferences and activities. Building A – the Teaching Hall – features a sophisticated amphitheater with 150 seats and fully equipped classrooms, while Buildings C and D provide comfortable and modern accommodation areas.
Additionally, Building B, with its 33 dormitory rooms, further enhances the Foundation’s capacity to accommodate groups and participants in its diverse events.
A particularly intriguing trivia of the Foundation is that Building D served as a prominent filming location for the critically acclaimed movie The Lost Daughter, starring Olivia Coleman, Dakota Johnson and Paul Mescal.
Another key component of the Foundation’s activities is the organization of worldclass conferences, workshops and summer academies, attracting distinguished scholars, academics and students from both Greece and abroad.
Among the Foundation’s hallmark initiatives is the renowned Music Academy, an advanced ten-day program, hosted in the historic school of Spetses.
Here, participants – talented students from across the globe – are given the unique opportunity to engage in masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians.
With a breathtaking sea view, the Foundation’s gracious 900-seat Open Theater is an ideal venue for performances, events and presentations. The Magus Art Café serves as a vibrant space for social and cultural engagement, fostering a creative atmosphere that encourages interaction and collaboration among visitors.
Boasting a truly rich history, exceptional infrastructure and a commitment to academic and cultural excellence, the A.K.S.S. Foundation continues to stand as a distinct and prestigious destination for high-quality educational and conference experiences.
