Georgios Drossinis Museum

Dedicated to the Greek poet, writer, journalist and social activist Georgios Drossinis, this museum is located in the centre of Kifissia, where the poet lived in later years.

The museum houses important personal items, family heirlooms, notes, manuscripts, and photographs of the poet, who lived from 1859-1951. Also on display are Greek originals and translations of Drossinis’ poetic and literary works. Although best known for his poetry and novels, Drossinis was an acclaimed editor and publisher. While working for the ministry of education, he was instrumental in expanding the Greek library system.

Housed in the ‘Amaryllis villa’, the museum is sponsored by the Association of Friends of the Drossinis Museum, which oversees the museum’s operation and development. The Municipality of Kifissia is the official administrator of the endowment and also helps manage the museum.
