Greece’s foremost cultural festival and one of the oldest performing arts festivals in Europe… is happening in Attica!
Every summer, from June until August, the Athens & Epidaurus Festival hosts internationally and locally acclaimed artists, attracting large audiences from around the world. Theatrical performances, music concerts and tributes, opera, contemporary dance, visual arts and many other actions compose a diverse panorama of culture.
Majestic melodies and performances fill up wonderful, atmospheric and historical venues in Attica, such as the enchanting Odeon of Herodes Atticus at the foot of the Acropolis, the former industrial cluster of buildings on Peiraios 260, just a stone’s throw from the centre of Athens, and the imposing Megaron – the Athens Concert Hall. The “Opening to the City” section of the Festival features fascinating site-specific performances that are presented in various neighbourhoods of Athens and Piraeus, including outdoor spaces and archaeological sites.
This is the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, the greatest cultural festival in Greece that takes place in Attica. Don’t miss it!
