The highest hill in Athens, you can go up Lycabettus hill either by car or by cable car from Kolonaki. The view from the top expands beyond the city and all the way to the sea! At the top of the hill, the little church of Saint George is situated next to a small café where you can drink a Greek coffee while admiring the beautiful backdrop.

Monastiraki

Right across from the Miaouli 2-4 train station, the A for Athens café is located on the 6th floor and offers a great view of Plaka and the Acropolis!

Kolonaki

Lofos Strefi

Take in the view of Athens, the Acropolis and the National Gardens from the top of Strefi Hill, where you will also find a small and friendly café.

Philopappos

Also known as Lovers Hill, this is a favourite place for couples to stroll through small streets and admire the one-of-a-kind view of the Acropolis and Herodes Atticus Theatre.

Atticus Grove

Head up from Galatsi to the Hyades coffee-bar, which is open all day to enjoy the view of Athens, along with some exceptions food and drinks!

Profitis Ilias

At the top of Kastela Hill, you will find the small church of the Prophet Ilias along with the best view of Piraeus – a broad vista that expands from the small port of Piraeus all the way to Glyfada and Vouliagmeni.

Ymittos

If you’re a fan of hiking, Ymittos is the place for you! In addition to dozens of hiking trails, Ymittos offers a spectacular view of Athens and is also home to the Kesariani Monastery. At the edge of the mountain in Ilioupoli near the Prophitis Ilias you’ll come across a spot the locals call simply “the view.” Need we say more?

Petroupoli
