Kotzia Square

Located across from the old City Hall, this site includes many finds from the ancient city’s fortifications. Three roads once converged here, the most important being the one leading to Acharnai, a village at the foot of Mount Parnitha.

Discoveries here include a densely populated burial ground used for over 1,200 years, along with pottery workshops and ruins of ancient dwellings.

The site provides evidence of everyday Athenian life from Geometric times until the late Roman era.
