Lake and Dam of Marathon

Created in the 1930s to supply Athens with adequate drinking water, the Lake of Marathon is an artificial reservoir whose dam was constructed between 1926 and 1929.

Supplying the capital with water since the early 1930s, this lake attracts many visitors, who come to enjoy the beautiful, natural surroundings.
