Palamidas (Voulgaris Mansion)

A 20-minute walk crossing the 17th-century bridge brings visitors to Palamidas Beach at the southern end of Vlychos. While the trip from Palamidas to nearby Hydra can be done via private boat or water taxi, the one-hour walk is highly recommended.

At Palamidas you can visit the impressive mansion of the Voulgaris family, a hugely important family on the island. According to tradition, Capoudan Pasha, admiral-in-chief of the Ottoman fleet, resided at the mansion whenever he visited Hydra.
