Cycladic Art Museum

The Cycladic Art Museum, located near Syntagma Square at 4 Neophytou Douka Street, houses the world’s largest collection of artefacts of Cycladic and Greek art.

Comprised of the famous Cycladic figurines and marble vessels, this collection also includes ancient artefacts from the Minoan, Mycenaean, Geometric, Archaic and Classical Eras.

Constructed in 1986 based on designs by Ioannis Vikelas, the museum initially housed the privately owned Cycladic and ancient Greek art collections of Nikolaos and Aikaterini Goulandris.

It later expanded, with a new neoclassical wing added at the Stathatos Mansion in the 1990s.
The museum is dedicated to the study and preservation of the culture of the Aegean Sea, from prehistoric to modern times.
