Alimos Basilica

This sixth-century Christian basilica, located at the end of Deligiorgi Street between Alimos and Trachones, sits inside the grounds of the Zoodochos Pigi church.

Though currently somewhat in need of refurbishment, this tiny Christian church was once a grand, three-aisle, naved basilica. The basilica’s existence indicates that settlers must have lived near the ancient municipality Alimountas during the first centuries of Christianity.
