Poikilo Oros

At 465 metres high, Poikilo Oros carves out a natural border between the Athens basin and Eleusis. In recent years, the mountain has undergone extensive reforestation, its lush undergrowth now dominating this hill where vines and olives once thrived.

More than 200 native plant species blanket the mountain’s slopes, and a variety of insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and small mammals live here amid the wild vegetation and rocky terrain.
