University Club

At the corner of Akadimias and Ippokratous Streets, a compact, six-storey building has been home to the University Club for more than 80 years.

Based on designs by Alexander Nikoloudis, it was built between 1926 and 1930, on land donated from the estate of Antonis Papadakis.

Highlighted by Doric columns, friezes above the windows and other neoclassical elements, the Club’s upper floors include a reading room, library and a lounge for students and visitors. Shops on the ground floor are rented out for commercial use.
