Built in 1871, the Evangelical Church of Athens is located opposite the Columns of Olympian Zeusat the intersection of Lyssikratous Street and Amalias Avenue.
Representing the desire of the Protestant community to firmly establish itself within Greek society, the church was founded in 1858 by Doctor Michael Kalapothakis.
The church’s minimalist marble building hosts a variety of religious, charitable and secular events organised by the Protestant community, including the Bach Festival and the Christmas Festival.
