Unearthed in the 20th Century, Vravrona is an archaeological site, with an excellent museum and an impressive natural environment, the stream of Erassinos crossing the area.
The ancient theatre at Thorikos is north of Lavrion, almost adjacent to the city. It is the oldest theatre discovered to date, dated a the end of the Archaic era, between 525 and 480 b.C.
Prospering over the centuries, the area had been continuously inhabited since Neolithic times, and held a vital strategic position in Attica’s defence.
